Meet Our Team

Lora R. Mount

Lora R. Mount grew up in Scottsburg, Indiana. She earned an undergraduate degree from Indiana University Southeast, and she was an elementary school teacher for six years. Lora later earned her Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from Indiana University School of Law – Indianapolis.

Lora serves on the South Central Leadership Committee for Riley Children’s Foundation, and a development committee for Heritage Fund, The Community Foundation of Bartholomew County.

Lora is a board member of the Indiana Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, a board member of the Hoosier Hills Estate Planning Council, and a board member of the Bartholomew Consolidated School Foundation.

Lora is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association, and its Elder Law and Probate, Trust, and Real Property Sections and has participated in continuing legal education forums with the Indiana Continuing Legal Education Forum.

Blake C. Reed

Blake C. Reed grew up in Kokomo, Indiana. He graduated cum laude from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and he earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree cum laude from Indiana University School of Law – Indianapolis. Blake served as Articles Editor of the Indiana Health Law Review during law school.

Blake is a member of the Hoosier Hills Estate Planning Council, and he is also a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, and it’s Indiana Chapter, and the Indiana State Bar Association, and its Elder Law and Probate, Trust, and Real Property Sections. Blake is a Leadership of Bartholomew County graduate (Class of 2012-2013).

Blake is certified by the Veteran’s Administration to provide advice and help to wartime veterans about the VA Aid and Attendance Pension.

Blake has written an article about various residential, assisted living, and nursing home facilities in Bartholomew, Brown, Jackson, Jennings, and Decatur Counties. He has also made presentations for numerous groups about estate and disability planning, will and trust settlement and elder law, and Medicaid and veteran’s benefits.

James K. Voelz

James K. Voelz grew up in Columbus, Indiana. He has an undergraduate degree from Hanover College and a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from Indiana University Indianapolis Law School. Jim is the founding member of Voelz, Reed, & Mount, LLC, and was the senior partner in the firm until his retirement in 2016.

Jim is a member of Hoosier Hills Estate Planning Council, National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, and its Indiana Chapter, the Indiana State Bar Association, and its Elder Law and Probate, Trust, and Real Property Sections, and Jim has also served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Indiana Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys.

Legal Assistants

Staff

Katrina M. Alvey was a Family Court Case Manager for the Johnson Circuit Court, and she has also worked as a Court Reporter for the Brown Circuit Court. Katrina is a legal assistant for our Medicaid application services and estate and trust settlement services.

Liza M. Spencer has more than 20 years experience as a legal assistant. Liza performs a variety of office functions, including document preparation and estate and trust settlement services.

Olivia M. Hunter earned an associates of applied science in paralegal studies from Ivy Tech Community College. She is a legal assistant who is involved with client relations, file management, and document preparation.

Kristen Shipley was a Family Case Manager with the Department of Child Services, Bartholomew County Juvenile Probation Officer, and Administrative Assistant prior to joining the Voelz, Reed, & Mount team. Kristen is a legal assistant for our Medicaid application services.

Jody Tompkins is the former owner of Jody’s Gymnastics Zone with forty years of coaching experience. She also has five years experience working as an administrative assistant in a school admin office. She is a legal assistant who is involved with client relations, file management, and document preparation.
